Swarm types

Types of swarms

All content types in Skillhive are implemented as swarm types.

Examples of swarm types include:

• Event
• Idea
• Question
• Project
• Discussion
• Learning Content / Training
• Goal
• Onboarding
• Expert Search
• Announcement
• Competency Assessment
• Area of Expertise
• Certification

Swarm type names can be customized per organization.

Admins define:

• Which swarm types are enabled
• Which user roles can create each type

If a swarm type is enabled, its main view appears in navigation for all users.

However, only users with creation rights can create new swarms of that type.

Example:

• Only HRD users may be allowed to create training swarms
• Admin rights are not required for that purpose
