# Swarm visibility

> Swarm owners can define the visibility of a swarm. Three visibility options are available.

## 1\. Open

An Open swarm:

- Is visible and searchable by all users within the organization
- Includes EXT users
- Displays a visual information banner below the header image stating:
- **“Visible to all”**

In an Open swarm:

- Any Regular User can invite other users
- Users can join without approval

## 2\. Internal (Default)

An Internal swarm:

- Is visible to all Regular Users
- Is visible to EXT users only if invited
- Is not publicly visible outside the organization

Any Regular User can invite other users to an Internal swarm.

Internal visibility is the default setting for new swarms.

## 3\. Invite Only

An Invite Only swarm:

- Is visible only to owners, members, and invited users
- Does not appear in search results or swarm listings for others

The swarm page displays:

- A lock icon
- The text: **“Visible to invited experts only”**

A lock icon is also shown in swarm listings (e.g., on the homepage).

Invitations to Invite Only swarms can be sent by:

- Swarm owners
- Admins (if members of the swarm)

Users can join only by invitation.

# Changing Visibility

Swarm visibility can be changed by:

- Swarm owners
- Admins

The change is made from the swarm page under:

**Edit Swarm Details**

Please note:

- Visibility cannot be changed if the swarm contains comments
- Comments must be removed before visibility can be modified

Users can delete only their own comments.

Admins can delete any comments.
