# Swarm types

All content types in Skillhive are implemented as swarm types.

Examples of swarm types include:

-   Event
-   Idea
-   Question
-   Project
-   Discussion
-   Learning Content / Training
-   Goal
-   Onboarding
-   Expert Search
-   Announcement
-   Competency Assessment
-   Area of Expertise
-   Certification

Swarm type names can be customized per organization.

Admins define:

-   Which swarm types are enabled
-   Which user roles can create each type

If a swarm type is enabled, its main view appears in navigation for all users.

However, only users with creation rights can create new swarms of that type.

Example:

-   Only HRD users may be allowed to create training swarms
-   Admin rights are not required for that purpose
