# Notifications



## Skillhive Notifications

All user-related notifications are displayed in the **Notifications view** within the service.

Notifications are generated, for example, when:

-   You are invited to a swarm
-   Someone comments in a swarm you are a member of
-   Someone replies to your comment
-   Someone likes your comment
-   Someone recommends your skill
-   Your application (e.g. training request) is processed

Notifications are always visible in the system regardless of email notification settings.

## Personal Notification Settings

You can manage your settings via:

**Settings → Notifications**

You can define:

-   Which events trigger email notifications
-   Whether you want notifications when:
-   You are invited to a swarm
-   Someone comments in a swarm you are a member of
-   Someone replies to your comment
-   Notification preferences by swarm type

If you do not want email notifications, simply uncheck the relevant option.

## Swarm and Skill Following

Regardless of general settings, you can:

-   Follow an individual swarm via the **Follow** button
-   Follow a specific skill from the skill page

Following ensures you receive notifications related to that specific swarm or skill.

## Email Summary Frequency

You can define how often you receive email summaries:

-   Daily
-   Weekly
-   Never

Email summaries consolidate multiple notifications into one message.

## Browser Notifications

You can allow Skillhive to display browser notifications.

Browser notifications require:

-   Being logged into the service
-   Granting browser permission for notifications
