# Leaderboard and gamification

> Skillhive includes a lightweight community recognition system designed to encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing, and active participation. The purpose is to make collaborative activity visible and support swarm culture.

## Inspirer Points

Users earn Inspirer points when they:

-   Create content (ideas, projects, discussions)
-   Attract others to join their swarm
-   Spark engagement and discussion

The more participation and activity a swarm generates, the more points its creator receives.

## Contributor Points

Users earn Contributor points when they:

-   Join swarms
-   Participate in discussions
-   Share expertise
-   Receive recognition or recommendations related to their skills

Contributor points reward helping behavior and knowledge sharing.

## Leaderboards

Leaderboards display users who have accumulated the most:

-   Inspirer points
-   Contributor points

During the past 30 days.

Rankings are time-based (rolling 30-day window), not lifetime accumulations.

## Awards

Depending on settings, users may receive visual badges (Awards) on their profile as their points increase.

-   Early milestones are easier to achieve.
-   Higher-level awards require more sustained contribution.

Awards recognize active community participation, not performance ranking.

## Administration

Administrators can enable or disable the recognition system from the admin view.
