SwarmMind as a Finnish Learning Awards finalist: the field of learning is looking for new answers

SwarmMind was selected as a finalist in the Finnish Learning Awards, among the most innovative learning initiatives of the year. The main award went to eKlubitalo this time, but for SwarmMind, being selected as a finalist was already a strong signal: the field of learning is looking for new answers to how organizations learn in the age of AI.

Yesterday, the Finnish Learning Awards gala was held in Helsinki, celebrating innovative learning initiatives from across Finland.

SwarmMind was one of the finalists in the category recognizing the most innovative learning initiative of the year.

The award went to eKlubitalo — a warm, important and socially meaningful learning initiative. Our heartfelt congratulations to them.

The other finalists in the category were:

  • Vincit: a peer-learning-based training program for software developers

  • Saimaan ammattiopisto Sampo / Teräksen tekijät model: team learning across organizational boundaries

  • Saranen / Nextmile: a coaching and learning model for experienced employees

  • City of Rovaniemi / Kohtaamo Rovaniemi: a participatory event concept

  • SwarmMind: an agentic organizational learning infrastructure based on swarm intelligence

For us, simply becoming a finalist in this group was a major recognition.

SwarmMind did not even exist as a name a little over six months ago. The whole idea started to take shape less than a year ago.

And now we were a finalist in one of the most important learning competitions of the year, alongside established, experienced and highly impactful learning initiatives and organizations — people and teams who have been doing important work for years, in some cases decades.

Any one of the finalists would have deserved to be awarded.

That is why it felt so special to be part of this group.

The finalist position was a strong signal for us

The Finnish Learning Awards was not just a competition.

It was also a reminder of how much good, bold and impactful learning development is being done in Finland.

For us, the finalist position was above all a signal.

It showed that the field of learning is looking for new answers.

Not just more courses.
Not just more content.
Not just more efficient performance.

But answers to much harder questions:

How do organizations learn?

How does experience created at work become shared understanding?

How do individual insights turn into swarm intelligence?

How can learning be made visible so that it can be led — safely, humanely and with real impact?

This is the question SwarmMind is built to address.

The mechanism of learning has not changed. It needs to be restarted.

We do not believe that learning itself needs to be reinvented.

People still learn in the same ways they always have: through customer encounters, projects, failures, conversations, experiments, decisions and everyday observations.

The problem is that this learning often remains invisible.

It stays inside individual people’s heads.
It disappears into the rush of daily work.
It does not become shared understanding.
It does not reach decision-making.
It does not scale into organizational capability.

That is why SwarmMind’s mission is not to reinvent learning, but to build a space where learning can happen as part of the work itself, become visible and turn into shared wisdom.

When learning becomes visible, it can be led.

And when it is led, it starts to create impact.

In the first phase, this means improving how work gets done. After that, it becomes something bigger: the organization’s ability to renew itself.

A space where people, teams and organizations can truly learn together.

AI did not create the learning problem. It revealed it.

Contrary to what we might think, AI did not create the learning problem.

It revealed it.

AI has made content production trivial — almost free. Yet, perhaps precisely because of this, the market rushed to do what it already knew how to do: produce more content, faster.

We are now in a situation where we need to admit something important:

The problem of learning was never a lack of content. It was a lack of thinking.

The faster the world changes, the more important it becomes to stop, think and ask:

What have we observed?
What should we learn from this?
Which experience should also be shared with others?
What does this mean for our strategy?
Which direction do we want to move in?
What is our next move?
What do we need to change next?

This is where learning moves out of the training calendar and away from the edges of HR processes.

It moves to the core of leadership.

SwarmMind is building learning infrastructure for the age of AI

SwarmMind is learning infrastructure for the age of AI.

Its purpose is to help organizations turn experience into shared understanding and shared action.

In practice, SwarmMind brings together people, teams and AI agents in a way that supports reflection, learning, skills visibility and strategic renewal.

For example, it can surface new insights from a team’s customer conversations and turn them into shared learning within minutes — when in a normal situation, most of those thoughts might have disappeared by the next morning.

We are not building a new LMS.

We are not building an AI tutor for individuals.

We are building a system that helps the organization learn.

That is why SwarmMind’s core question is:

How does an organization turn experience into wisdom?

Recognition from our own tribe

SwarmMind’s biggest proof points are still ahead of us. That is exactly why becoming a finalist felt so meaningful.

What made the recognition especially valuable was that it came from our own tribe: people who build learning, competence, workplace development and better working life every day.

A warm thank you to the Finnish Learning Awards organizers, the jury and all the finalists.

A special thank you to the Learning Engineers and the SwarmMind School community.

We are building this future together.
